The Phonics Fox® - Derby

DSC_1786 2_edited.jpg

Hello! I'm Kathryn and I am really excited to be bringing The Phonics Fox classes to the Derby area.

I am a qualified primary teacher with over ten years teaching and leadership experience. I have taught mostly in the Early Years and Key Stage One and I really love working with young children.

I have always had a passion for teaching phonics. During my time teaching, I saw first-hand the impact that phonics teaching can have on children and how it helped to form the solid foundations for children to learn to read, write and spell. I have also been able to use my skills and expertise in this area to give my two young boys a love of reading as well as a head start before starting school.

As a mum myself, I truly understand the importance of making learning fun and engaging with a hands-on approach. Children learn best through play and I love the fact that The Phonics Fox promotes this!

I was school SENCO for many years. I understand the difficulties that children with Special Educational Needs may face and I can help to support parents who feel their children may have SEND. I recognise that all children learn differently and I am passionate about creating equal opportunities where learning is meaningful for all.

I am so excited to be part of The Phonics Fox® team and I look forward to continuing my love for teaching phonics to children in such an enjoyable and exciting way!

We are now taking bookings for the Autumn Term. You can BOOK HERE!

I take this opportunity to thank you very much for your work, support and resilience throughout the months; your smile and delicate handling of these little humans. You are passionate about these 'little' things that are sounds, letters and words but what's behind is much greater than it seems.
