The Phonics Fox® - Central Cornwall

Hello! My name is Sarah, and I am excited to be continuing The Phonics Fox journey here in Cornwall!

 

I first found The Phonics Fox classes by attending as a parent with my then three-year-old daughter; the classes were engaging, fun, varied, creative and I felt strongly I could see the immediate value of the sessions. The structure of the session is almost a day in a reception class condensed into 45 minutes, so provide a great insight and preparation for school readiness for both children and parents. When the opportunity came up to take over the franchise, I jumped in with both feet, and I am excited to deliver the classes with my own spin!

 

I’m so excited to empower children to take their initial steps into learning to read from a young age through engaging and hands-on (not to mention messy!) activities, inspiring stories, wriggling and dancing, and ideas to take away and recreate at home. My classes will always be a welcoming and inclusive space, supporting parents and carers as they navigate what is often their first foray into the (sometimes confusing) world of phonics.

 

I am an experienced Primary School teacher, qualifying in 2013 and teaching across the primary school year groups in Manchester and Cornwall. I’ve also worked abroad in nurseries in Greece and Switzerland, including being a nanny on skis (yes, really!), and more recently I’ve supported new international students as they settle into life in the UK.
