Hi, my name is Amy!

I am excited to be part of The Phonics Fox® team. My classes are in Bishops Stortford, Harlow and the surrounding areas.

I am an experienced Primary School Teacher, qualifying in 2012. I have spent nine years teaching in Nursery and Reception classes and was an Early Years Foundation Stage Leader before going on maternity leave. I am now a Mummy to a three year old girl (who was born during the first lockdown!) and a baby boy.

I love phonics and I am passionate about supporting children's early reading and writing development. I know from experience that children learn best when they are having fun and I have always tried to make learning engaging and active.

Through The Phonics Fox® classes, I hope to ignite your child's imagination and promote a love of literacy using books and real life contexts. I look forward to working with you to build your child's confidence and create firm foundations for future learning.

I very much look forward to welcoming you soon!

Amy is currently on maternity leave. If you would like to join her again soon, please add yourself to our Waiting List.

Child playing with play doh in Phonics Fox class

Amy’s phonics class was wonderful! My little boy is two and doesn’t speak very much yet, but I can already see how much he will really benefit from the class. At the class we were practising the sound and letter ‘o’ and he has been repeating it at home lots! Seeing the shape of his mouth in the little mirror in class was a great way of getting him to master his sound. I really liked that he also got a chance to practise making the movement of the letter with his hands and with the pen. We can’t wait for the next class!
